Sharetronix Evolves

Stepping up with the times, Blogtronix released last week an updated version of its microblogging platform, Sharetronix 1.5. The new version features improved social networking capabilities.

New capabilities include APIs for developers with Twitter compatibility; LDAP integration; private groups; public groups; message re-sharing; real-time integration with PubSubHubbub protocol; SSO with Facebook and Twitter; content sharing with Facebook, Twitter, Buzz, and Delicious; Twitter feed aggregation; member invitations from Gmail, Yahoo!, Facebook, Twitter accounts; theme engine; and mobile UI optimized for smartphones.

The new version can be deployed on Microsoft Windows servers with PHP support and offers Tweetdeck. It includes automatic administrative notifications for updates and upgrades; and has a translation center to currently convert the software in 24 languages.

What makes the software more competitive is its ability to allow customers to download the software onto their servers, while still enjoying the flexible benefits of open source, according to Sofiya Dimitrov, Blogtronix's enterprise project manager. SaaS options are also available. The software is available for free for personal use, though the company charges for commercial use.

The new improvements and optimizations are part of Sharetronix’s strategy and roadmap,” Dimitrov said. “They address users’ current, latent, and incipient needs – i.e. needs that are already in place and sought after, needs that have not been met by the competitors, and needs that customers have but are not aware that they can solve through microblogging.”

Sharetronix currently powers 10,100 communities in 125 countries.

Yuemyutu There is no evolving in this b.s. It is just a make up. Almost nothing added to 1.5 except fancy webpage:) We have been keep sending suggestions for months on how to improve it and make it useful but nobody cares. Can you imagine that as an administrator you can't send update or email to your members?(Yes, you can't!) The only thing they care is blogtronix. To sell it and make some money. I was going to buy it but then I thought if they continue to act like that it will take forever to have a microblogging platfrom that actually fits into my needs. Probably they will not publish this comment because I tell the truth.

Stewart I do agree with Yemyutu. I know this framework is open source, but you can't easily brushed off people easily after asking for suggestions. That is just not nice.
People are asking for Sharetronix to be a platform that has its own unique API. So in the future, developers like us can expand/contribute upon the sharetronix platform.
You just didn't get it do you?
Instead, you just put some make up on the framework, and then user other people's API integration and claim that this is awesome. This is not meaningful.

In conclusion: People want sharetronix to be a PLATFORM. Build the API. PLEASE

Byron Hmmm, some pretty deeply heart felt thoughts here. I'm glad to see the management at sharetronix post constructive criticisms like these. I am also hoping for even more from 1.5.1 or 1.6 or whereever we are at this point. I would enjoy management addressing that as well. Specifically, what all new features / programming will more than likely make the cut for the next update / version. I have to agree, that through this blog as well as the survey, loads of valuable opinions have been communicated by community owners exactly what they would like to see included in the next script update. Myself included. That said...nice script guys!!!!
