Database Optimization

The main thing in Sharetronix 2.1.0 is the improved performance. We have reduced the database and cache queries to improve the speed and reduce the database load.

Easy users edit for administrators

We have added a tool to facilitate the network admin. Now they will have easy access to the user’s controls at the user’s profile. Administrators can “Edit”, “Delete” or “Suspend” user directly from this page.

Sphinx Search (available only in Sharetronix Professional/Plus)

Sphinx Search is integrated in Sharetronix 2.1.0. Enhance you search performance using this great tool. It is times faster than a regular search with MySQL queries.

Signup on mobile version

In Sharetronix 2.1.0 you can sign-up directly from your mobile phone using the Sharetronix mobile(touch) version.

Likes tab( available only in Sharetronix Professional/Plus )

In the new release there is an easy access to posts you like and your posts liked by the other community members.

SPAM posts control filter

Now you can activate SPAM control filter(through your conf_system.php file) and stop spam in your community.

RSS filter

In Sharetronix 2.1.0 you can activate your RSS Filter (through your conf_system.php file) and stop posting all feed posts to reduce the database load.  With this filter activated only the recent post will be posted.

Send your attached content along with your post message to Facebook

Now you can send to facebook not only your post message but your attached videos, links and pictures to your post message.

·         We will announce the winner on the 20th of September!

·         The prize is a Sharetronix Personal Plus license as well as update subscription for one year!

·         In future, we will do more contests with more prizes for second and third place, but for now, let's see how this holds! Our contests are still in beta!

Like Button

Now you can “Like” posts throughout your community.

Here’s what a post looks like before being “liked:”

 To see who liked the post, press the “like” icon in the bottom right corner of the post:

IP Restriction

Now you can filter access to your community by IP (either on a one-by-one basis or a whole batch of IPs) If you restrict an IP address it will not be able to use your network anymore.

To active IP Restrictions, go to Administration -> IP Restrictions, where you will see the following options:

In the “Add entry” field you can enter either a single IP address or a group of addresses (i.e. 123.12.13.). There are a few options:

-          Turning off the restriction.

-          With the restriction turned on, only the specified IP addresses will have access to your community.

-          With restrictions on, everyone can join but only the specified addresses are disabled.

Here is an example of an active IP restriction blocking off a select address (Figure 5):

If any user with a restricted IP address tries to log on, they will see the following error:

Multiple File Upload

With Sharetronix Professional, you can now attach multiple files, pictures, videos and links to your posts:

Others

The options Email Domain Control and LDAP will only be available for Sharetronix Professional as they are not as useful outside of the corporate world.

The new version of Sharetronix is on its way. Let's take a closer look at what's new.

Much Deeper Integration with Twitter and Facebook

Sharetronix 2.0 Personal introduces a special page in the user settings called “Integrations” where every user can now integrate their account with Facebook/Twitter in the Sharetronix community.

To use this option you will have to create a Facebook/Twitter application first. The process is described in the README.TXT file included in the Sharetronix download pack. If you already have an application for Twitter/Facebook connectivity you can use it for this option. No need to create a new one.

Please note that the Facebook application needs some more details. You already have a Facebook app key in your conf_main.php file. However, you will also need to add an app id and app secret to it, described in the README.TXT file. Twitter doesn’t need additional details in conf_main.php.

On figure 1 you can see the new “Integrations” tab in the settings.  Right now, the two integration options shown above are not supported. Twitter integration requires support for cURL and json_decode() (included in PHP 5.2) as well as an application consumer key and secret in the conf_main.php file. Facebook integration requires cURL, json_decode(), Facebook application ID, key and secret in the conf_main.php file. When you have all these requirements you will see:

Now you can launch your Twitter/Facebook integration. Click either “Integrate my Twitter profile” or “Integrate my Facebook profile” to start.

After you fill in your data, you will see:

You can remove these integrations at any time using the remove buttons below each option.

Once you have these integrations you can:

a)      Post directly from Twitter to your  Sharetronix community  

      Before you can use this option you should choose a tag for your community to identify it in Twitter. To do that, go to Administration->General Settings and write your Twitter tag:

Now you can go to Twitter and create a post followed by the community hashtag. For example, “I am going home #stx” will create the following post in your community:

b)      Direct post from your Sharetronix Community to Twitter

You can also post the opposite way - from your community to Twitter. When you post something in your Sharetronix community you can send it directly to Twitter using the post controls at the top right corner of each post.

Choose “Tweet it” to send it to twitter. Take a look on figure 7 to see the result.

c)       Direct post from your Sharetronix Community to Facebook

This is the same as sending a post to Twitter. The only difference is that you have to choose the “FB status” option in the post menu on Figure 6, mentioned above. Take a look:

Please keep in mind that Facebook could require a new integration after some time due to expiration. Twitter integrations do not expire.

Unshare Your Post

You can unshare your previously shared posts by using the option in the post controls at the top right corner of the post body.

Community Leaders

With this option everyone in your community can see the most active members and groups. Take a look on figure 10.

Integrated reCaptcha support

If you want to use reCaptcha instead of the Sharetronix captcha mechanism, in Sharetronix 1.5.5 you can easily integrate it. Open the README.TXT file included in the Sharetronix download package and follow the instructions to integrate it.

Mobile Browser Detection

Sharetronix 1.5.5 could detect a lot of mobile browsers and redirect it automatically to the mobile version of the site for better experience.

Re-send Your Invitations to Your Friends

Now you can re-send your invitations to your friends. This option will be available for 3 days after last invitation was re-send. This is required for anti-spam protection.

Improved Option to Remove Posts from Your Community

We’ve added an option in your Administration->System setting for more control over your posts in the database. You can choose to delete all of them on shorter intervals in order to keep your database clean.
